We are working on a schedule of events that complies with local and state regulations regarding covid-19 as they develop and change. We will be able to include all events that are outdoors and where social distancing is possible. More updates to come! Follow our Facebook page for more. We'll leave the 2020 schedule below as an example of what events are included in Bearfest.

SUNDAY, JULY 26

7:00 to 7:45 - Full marathon ($6, half marathon, and 5K registration


6:00-9:00AM | Race Starts

Nolan Center

6:00am | Early start for full marathon only

​8:00am | Regular start for half and full marathon

8:30am | Start for 5K walkers, runners & bikers


12:00PM | Raffle Drawing

Nolan Center

The first marathon finisher will draw the winning ticket. Two roundtrip tickets anywhere Alaska Airlines flies. You do not have to be present to win.

Stikine Restaurant - Patio

Chefs Brian McCracken and Nina Vicente of Seattle, along with our own Chef Jake Harris, plan an evening of family-style fine dining based on the abundant riches of SE Alaska's bounty of food. Small tables on the waterfront with tent coverings if needed. Music provided by our own Brooke Leslie accompanied by Tom Locher of Juneau. Auction (both live and silent) includes local arts, Alaskan seafood, and more.

12:00PM | Anan Photo Workshop

Anan Wildlife Observatory

Join Alaska Vistas and local photographers for a hands-on experience in the field at the bear observatory. Details to be announced.


Limited to 8 participants | $100 per person

 

3:00PM | Live Floral Demonstration

Downtown pavilion

See local florist Mya Delong create a lush floral centerpiece with local garden blooms & foraged foliage. *Will be on display for continuous viewing after the event.

 

5:00PM | Zoom Marathon Meeting
